• more context for the wings au: steve was born with them, and nobody knows why. as a youngster he just kept them bound under his clothing because they were small and weak and covered in baby feathers; easy to hide.
Bucky is the only person who knew he had these wings before the war. the serum beefed them up and made them functional, and then the story was told that the serum GAVE him the wings.
